AMA Flat Track Series points leader Joe Kopp dominates at I-96 Speedway

LAKE ODESSA -- Joe Kopp of Mica, Wash., won Saturday night’s 25-lap AMA Pro Grand National Flat Track Series race at I-96 Speedway before a crowd of 4,000.

It was the 21st career victory for Kopp, the series points leader, and he led from start to finish after earning the hole shot. He outdueled Jake Johnson of Franklinville, N.J., by 0.215 seconds.

Jeffrey Carver Jr. of Alton, Ill., led all 12 laps to win Saturday’s Pro Singles main event. Brad Baker of Chehalis, Wash., earned the hole shot, but Carver grabbed the lead before the field got back to the stripe.

Heat winners were James Rispoli, Carver, Kopp, Kenny Coolbeth Jr., Jethro Halbert and Zack Palmer. Coolbeth also won the dash for cash.

Consolation race winners were Brian Smith and Brad Baker.
