Jeep VanWormer in Australia
At age thirty-three, Piconning, Michigans Jeep Van Wormer only seeks to be one thing in life; to be the best at what he does. His younger years showed that he was born with the need for competitive speed.
Noticing this, Jeep's mother and father gave him the opportunity to take advantage of his competitiveness. Jeep started out on two wheels with a motorcycle his parents bought for him to ride in the back yard racing the neighbors, which later switched gears into a successful career of racing motor cross for five years.
At age twenty-one, Jeep stepped off the bike and pursued a college education. His first year of college led to be an exciting one. Not only had he become a successful college student, but this was also his first year of racing cars.Being in Jeep's nature to always succeed, in just four years Jeep was able to collect two track championships in a street stock and eleven feature wins in an open wheel modified.
At the same time, he received a four-year bachelor's degree in marketing and business administration.Jeep has now taken his career a step further, with his education in mind and his competitiveness at heart....a full-scale race team was born.
These days, Jeep can be found all over this great land piloting his #55 Dirt Late Model. He is a frequent competitor in Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series events, UMP Summernationals shows, and all the major races across the country.Looking to the future, there is no stopping this successful racer from succeeding at whatever he does.
Each year brings more wins and accolades to this young racer and his Iron Motorsports race team! You can see Jeep competing in the Australian Late Model Nationals this weekend.

Improvements at Berlin Raceway
Mike Garvey News
After failing to make their first three attempts in the Sprint Cup Series, Muskegon Native Mike Garvey and the H&S Motor sports team have decided to reevaluate their motor program.
Cornering speeds were not an issue as their team was ranked with some of the upper echelon teams at California and Las Vegas Speedways, but straight away speed indicated a lack of horsepower. Work is in progress to fix the problem.
During this layoff Mike is tutoring some up and coming Late Model Drivers out of his new race shop in Atlanta.
Mike and his Sprint Cup teams plans are to be ready to race at Texas Motor Speedway in April.

Berlin Adds Double File Restarts in 2009
Berlin Raceway owner Mike Blackmer continues to make changes that should add excitement to the racing action at Berlin. Read about his latest change by clicking on the link below.
Berlin Raceway's feature races should be even more exciting this season now that new track operator Mike Blackmer said the track will adopt a double-file restart format.
Imagine Tom Thomas cruising to a victory in the Late Model main when caution waves with three laps to go, erasing Thomas' four-second lead over Ross Meeuwsen.
Now, Thomas and Meeuwsen would restart the race side-by-side once, instead of in single-file order like Berlin has done in the past. The leader also will have the choice of restarting the race on either the outside or inside groove.
"I want to give the fans something to talk about on their way home," Blackmer said.
And Blackmer also will be adjusting the starting time of the races to make sure fans get home earlier, too.
Blackmer announced the start time will be moved up to 6 p.m. during the April and May programs, and again for events after Labor Day. Races in June, July and August will have the traditional 7 p.m. start.
Anyone who has attended races early in the season and has sat through those cold spring Saturday nights likely will agree this is a great move. The temperature drops awfully quickly in Marne once the sun sets.

My Best and Worst of List: "Worst Wreck Witnessed"
Cody Weisner's #16 Car Smashed Facing the wrong way after impact
In 2007 Sportsman Driver #16 Cody Wiesner was stalled on the frontstretch right in front of the flagstand at Winston Motor Speedway when Harvey Gould hit him at full speed. Wiesner's rear clip was in the back seat area while Gould’s car deflected and rolled over. It was a scarry moment but both drivers were OK.
The Other incident that comes to mind is watching Twin Lake MI, Modified driver #84 Tim Tuttle in 2006 hit the end of the wall at Thunderbird going into turn three. The impact was so great the frame twisted and the fuel cell came flying out of the car. To the delight of fans Tuttle was also OK.

Bean Falbe Arena Race Report March 8th
Our new baby Bryce came to visit us during the meet and greet. He had on his Dad's #1 Fan shirt. He stole the show in my eyes of course. Mom took him home before racing started. Our qualifying speed was not good enough to get us into the a main. For some reason we have lost some speed. The car felt really good, our times just didnt reflect it. We started 3rd in the C Main. We followed the leader for 15 or so laps and then made a move coming out of turn 4. After we took the lead we checked out from the field. We started deep in the field in the Top Dog. We picked up a few spots and were on the high side making a move to get to the front. The car on the outside had some miscommunication with their spotter and I guess he didnt know Iwas up there and he put us into the wall. The right front was bent pretty severely. We pulled it in to not be in the way and not to tear up anymore parts. Lady luck avoided me again. The final race is March 28th at 7p at the Delta Plex. Hope to see you all there..........b*
