Nobody Can Keep up With Jeep
Sometimes it is good to be lucky, but when you are already good and you add luck it can be ruthless on the competition. Such was the case for Pinconning, MI Late Model driver Jeep VanWormer. Upon entering Winston Speedway VanWormer drew a chip that placed him on the pole of the first heat. He preceded to win by leading every lap and gave him the opportunity to draw the inversion chip for the "Player Hater 50" main event. VanWormer's luck continued as he drew the number one chip that placed him on the pole for the main event. Van Wormer dominated the main event leading all 50 laps.
On the night the only cars VanWormer had to pass were lapped ones late in the main event. VanWormer was on cruise control the entire night never finding himself anywhere but out front of all of his competition.
VanWormer's efforts earned him over $2000 in cash and contingency awards for the evening.

Jeep VanWormer: Press Release
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
April 22, 2010
Jeep Van Wormer's Stellar Weekend Yields First Two Wins; Heads to Winston Tomorrow
(PINCONNING, MICHIGAN) The Iron Motorsports team and driver Jeep Van Wormer enjoyed a fantastic weekend in the Buckeye State of Ohio from April 16-18, as they picked up their first two victories of the 2010 racing season! Jeep reached victory lane for the first time in the '10 campaign on Saturday night at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. The Pinconning, Michigan native set fast time in qualifying, won his heat race, and captured his 25th career American Late Model Series (ALMS) feature win at the "Big E" on Saturday. Jeep took home the $2,000 top prize over Matt Miller, Rusty Schlenk, Steve Casebolt, and Wayne Chinn.
On Sunday, the #55 team dropped into the Waynesfield Raceway Park in Waynesfield, Ohio for a $1,200 to win UMP DIRTcar Series weekly event. Jeep ran third in heat race action, but was later inverted to the pole position for the main event. He then ran away and hid from the competition in the 30-lap A-Main to score the $1,200 triumph over Brian Ruhlman, Rusty Schlenk, Jason Jameson, and Jeremy Canada.
Earlier in the three-race weekend, the Iron Motorsports team invaded the Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio on Friday evening for a $2,000 to win ALMS show. Jeep ran third in his heat race and later started the feature event from the tenth position. His Rocket racecar was on a rail during the A-Main and Jeep worked his way past seven competitors en route to a solid third place performance behind winner Doug Drown and runner-up Rusty Schlenk. You can view complete results from the Ohio trifecta by accessing www.americanlatemodelseries.com and www.waynesfieldmotorsportspark.com.
"We had a very good weekend and I am really pumped up about this new Rocket car," quoted Van Wormer this week. "It was fast all weekend, but we had a little scare with overheating at Eldora. Luckily, I made it to the checkers and we got the first win of the season at our favorite track. Then on Sunday at Waynesfield, we caught a break by getting inverted to the pole position, but our car was good enough to capitalize on the front row starting spot. Hopefully, we can continue running up front and shoot for our third win of the season in the Player Hater 50 on Friday!"
Up next, the IMS team will tackle the 4th Annual 'Player Hater 50' at the Winston Speedway in Rothbury, Michigan. The UMP DIRTcar Series sanctioned event will be held on Friday, April 23 at Winston and will pay $2,000 to the winner. This is the only scheduled race for the Iron Motorsports team this weekend. Additional information concerning the Integra Shocks sponsored 'Player Hater 50' can be found online at www.winstonspeedway.net.
In other news, the #55 team has received their allotment of tickets to sell for the upcoming 'Dream 100' and 'World 100' at the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio! Both general admission and reserved tickets are available for purchase. Please visit www.jeepvanwormer.com for additional information!

KAOS Motorsports Race Report
VANDOORN ONCE AGAIN BRINGS KAOS TO VICTORY LANE AT ANDERSON
The Kaos Motorsports team headed to the first Champion Racing Association points race at Anderson Speedway looking to turn around their string of bad luck. And for the second year in a row, driver Johnny VanDoorn let the series know that Kaos will once again be the norm in the CRA Super Series.
The team unloaded their #61 Port City Racecar on Friday for an open practice session. While no official times were available, the team felt they had a pretty good car and were happy with its performance. The team retired early Friday night to give Johnny some extra rest as he has been fighting Mono for over a week.
On Saturday, the team posted the fastest time in the days only practice session. A few small changes were made and the team lined up for qualifying. Johnny would time in second with a time of 12.255. Fast time was set by Terry Fisher Jr. with a time of 12.208. With the invert, Johnny would start on the outside of the front row for the 125 lap race.
Johnny took the lead as the green flag waved over poll sitter Matt Kocourek and set the pace. The action happens fast at the Anderson Speedway and Johnny stated lapping cars at lap 18. The tight quarter mile track also leads to many cautions-and Saturday night was no different with 6 on the night.
Johnny kept the second place car of Kocourek guessing with his restarts and would pull away to a five car length lead early in a run. A late caution with about twenty laps to go set up the final restart, and Johnny once again got a great restart, crossing the line .290 seconds ahead of Kocourek and Rick Turner.
“It feels great to start off the year with another win at Anderson. We had some bad luck when we went to Georgia for the first two races, so this win was really needed” VanDoorn said. “I really have to thank the guys on my crew. I have been sick with Mono for the past week, and Butch and the guys really stepped up to help get things ready for this race.”
VanDoorn was also happy that a lot of work in the shop this winter finally paid off. “My brother Butch and I changed some things in the front end and it feels great that we had such a good car tonight. I was only pushing it about 80-85% for most of the race, wanting to keep my right rear tire under me. Then after the last restart, I went all out and gave it all I had. We came up just short of winning practice, qualifying and the race so we will once again give it a try at Winchester in a couple of weeks” VanDoorn added.
The next Champion Racing Association race will be on May 2nd at the Winchester Speedway.
Todd Cowan: Racing Report
GRAND RAPIDS, MI.
April 19, 2010
Winning has come early to Todd Cowan in the 2010 season. Todd competed in the last 4 events of the season in the Pennzoil Cup Arena Racing series that runs indoors at the Delta Plex Arena in Grand Rapids Michigan during winter months. In 4 weeks Todd and the Cowan Motorsports crew put together some very impressive runs; finishing on the podium 3 out of the 4 weeks and capturing a feature win.
“It was so much fun running those little cars indoors” Todd explained with a huge smile on his face. “We came in there and really got it figured out early with the help of Jay Niewiek and the entire Jay Niewiek Motorsports crew. They basically let us copy everything they were doing to the car and that took 10 weeks of learning and threw it out the window and allowed us to be competitive out of the gate. I also have to thank Josh Gould and Jon Huston; those two guys joined the team for the Arena Racing and really made a huge difference. Jon Huston has obligations during the summer months so he can’t help with the UMP Dirt Car in the summer but Josh Gould will be back during our outdoor season”.
The Arena Racing car was sponsored by longtime Cowan Motorsports supporter Action Mold and Machining of Grand Rapids Michigan as well as the Winston Speedway in Rothbury Michigan.
With the weather turning warm and spring in the air the Cowan Motorsports crew is busy finishing the final touches on the UMP Dirt Car for the summer campaign. The team hopes to be racing May 15th at the I-96 Speedway located near Lake Odessa Michigan. The team has no plans to run for points so there will also be appearances at other tracks throughout the state of Michigan including Winston Speedway and Thunderbird Raceway both located near Muskegon Michigan. The Cowan Motorsports UMP Dirt Car will be sponsored by Action Mold and Machining. However, Cowan Motorsports is hopeful to secure additional sponsors in the coming weeks.
