Jay Niewiek Continues to Lead Cometic Gasket Hardcharger Standings

Salem, IN (September 21, 2011) – Jay Niewiek, the 2010 winner of the Cometic Gasket Hardcharger Season Award, continues to lead the 2011 Cometic Gasket Hardcharger standings after ten CRA Super Series events so far this season. Niewiek has gained 105 positions so far this season, which is an average of ten positions per race. Niewiek gained 15 positions in the series last event on September 5th at Winchester Speedway, starting 30th and finishing 15th.

CRA Super Series veteran Kenny Tweedy is in second place with 73 gained positions to date, including three gained positions at the Winchester event. Jason Dietsch is in third place with 55 gained positions. Rookie competitor Mason Mingus is in fourth place with 49 gained positions while Colin Nickolai is in fifth place with 45 gained positions to date.

Cometic Gasket, the Official Gasket of the CRA Super Series, will award a $500 bonus to the season leader in the Cometic Gasket Hardcharger Standings at the 2011 Champion Racing Association Awards Banquet. A driver has to be in the top 15 in series points to be eligible for this award.
