AMA D14 Motorcycles Wrap Up Night I of the First Weekend in June Celebration at I-96 Speedway

Lake Odessa, Michigan (Friday, June 3rd, 2011): The first of two nights of racing to kick off the month of June was on Friday, June 3rd at I-96 Speedway and featured the second event of 2011 for the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) District 14 Flat Track Motorcycles in Lake Odessa, Michigan. A great field of riders and their bikes competed and treated the fans in the grandstands to a thrilling night of two-wheeled racing action up on the big 1/2 (0.500) mile high-banked dirt oval.

AMA District 14 is a non-profit organization based in Midland, Michigan that promotes all aspects of motorcycling including Flat Track Racing as well as Motocross, Hare Scrambles, Enduros, Ice Races, Hill Climbing, ATV Racing, and Road Racing. AMA District 14 Club Council, Inc., is made up of AMA clubs and promoters in the lower peninsula of Michigan and a small Eastern corner of the Upper Peninsula.

As for the results for the Flat Track riders and teams in Lake Odessa, Michigan on a beautiful Friday night the big Feature Winners of the night were Devin Pfeiffer who won in both the 401-505cc B and 201-250cc Open divisions while Jacob Nichols scored Feature Wins in both the 0-51cc Multi-Speed and 0-51cc Chain divisions. The premier division within AMA District 14 is the Combo division and the feature winner was Tyler Hicks as he out-dueled Chaz Springsteen, the son of legendary AMA Grand National rider to take the main event of the evening.

The rest of the Feature Winners were; Nicholas Myers - 401-505cc A, Eric Kolenda - 251cc+ Open Twin, Cory Clare - Veteran 30+, Mark Davidson - Super Senior 50+, Kyle Johnson - 251-450cc Open, Calob Blain - 66-85cc 6-11 years old, Gage Beland - 52-65cc 6-11 years old, Rick Hitchcock - 451cc+ Open Single, John Kolenda - Vintage 0-400cc, and Natalie Brinker - 0-51cc Pee Wee Shaft Drive.

This event was the second of five to be held in Lake Odessa, Michigan during the 2011 racing season. The remaining schedule for the AMA District 14 Flat Track Motorcycles at I-96 this season will see them visiting on Friday, July 8th and Saturday, July 9th for Motorcycle Flat Track Mayhem Weekend.

The season finale, which is a non-points race for AMA District 14, is set for Friday, July 22nd as part of the DMX Nation Bike Rally which goes from Tuesday-Saturday, July 19-23rd. In addition to the Flat Trackers Season finale, the DMX Nation Bike Rally Weekend will be highlighted by the traveling stars of the AMA Grand National Flat Track Motorcycles Series the next night on Saturday, July 23rd.


The first weekend of racing in June continues THIS Saturday, June 4th, as the cars and stars of the United Midwestern Promoters (UMP) DIRTcar Racing Series take over with a full 4 in 1 show. The Lane Automotive UMP Modifieds headline the nights' activities and will be going for $1,000 to win on Rudd's Septic Service Night at the Races! In addition, the Top 5 is getting a bump in pay as well: 1st - $1,000, 2nd - $500, 3rd - $400, 4th - $325, 5th - $300, 6th - $185, 7th - $140, 8th - $135, 9th - $130, 10th-20th - $125, $25 Tow Money.

The premier division within the UMP DIRTcar Racing Series in Lake Odessa, Michigan; the Tinney Automotive UMP Late Models ($1,200 to win - $200 to start - $50 tow money) are back in action while the Renegade Racing Fuels & Lubricants UMP Street Stocks ($300 to win - $100 to start - $25 tow money) and Jim's Auto Body of Portland UMP Sport Compacts ($125 to win - $25 to start - $25 tow money) are also on the card as all four divisions will take on the fast 3/8s (0.375) mile high-banked dirt oval.

Every Saturday night in 2011 (Unless Noted for Special Events) the Pit Gates open at 3:00p.m. Grandstand Gates open at 5:00p.m., with Practice (Hot Laps) starting at 6:00p.m. Then after the Pre-Race Ceremonies / Invocation / National Anthem(s), Racing begins promptly at 7:00p.m.

Ticket Prices every Saturday night (Unless Noted for Special Events) are: Adults (13-61): $12.00, Seniors (62 and Over): $8.00, Children (6-12): $5.00, Kids (5 and Under): FREE. Family Pass (A Family Pass will get 2 Adults and 2 Children into the races. Once inside the Kid's Club is Free for the Kids!): $30.00. Finally, Pit Passes: $25.00.
