Jeep Van Wormer Heads to WPMS & Tri-City Following Top Ten at Paducah
(PINCONNING, MICHIGAN) Jeep Van Wormer and his #55 Dirt Late Model team entered the twelfth Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event of the season last Friday night, May 15 at the Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky. Jeep finished fifth in his heat race and sixth in his B-Main, but took advantage of a series provisional to gain access into the $10,000 to win main event. After starting twenty-fourth on the grid, Jeep put on a great show for the large crowd in attendance and the cameras of the SPEED Channel. The Pinconning, Michigan driver earned Hard Charger honors by virtue of passing fifteen cars on his way to a remarkable ninth place performance.
The Iron Motorsports team was then slated to invade the LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois on Saturday evening, May 16 for another $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series race. However, Mother Nature took the win on Saturday at LaSalle. Jeep currently sits eleventh in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings and is leading the Rookie of the Year chase. The cameras of the SPEED Channel will be on hand at WPMS this weekend to tape all of the dirt-slinging action for broadcast later in the year. On Sunday, May 24, the competition will switch to the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois for another round of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series action.
