Former track champion Mike Nugent from Belding, was third, opening night winner, and 1995 IMCA modified national champion Rick Stout was fourth and Coopersville racer Jim Fairbanks, who started 13th, rounded out the top five. Wing in victory lane, “I want to thank Mike and Andy for bringing this series to Michigan. This is a lot of fun, and to beat the caliber of drivers here is special” After a great looking four wide salute to the fans, the green flag waved and Wing took from his front row starting spot. Action was slowed on lap 12 for John McClure as he came to a stop on the front stretch. With the green flag waving once again, the Delaware double file restart put Kohn on wing's bumper. Another quick yellow waved on lap 18, and once again Wing was able to pull away and take the 25 lap feature. Meanwhile, racing in the pack was exciting as both Fairbanks and Trueblood were on the move from their row seven starting spots. But at the checkered flag, no one had anything for Wing The rest of the top ten were, Trevor Sloan, Billy Trueblood Jr. from 14th, Scott Ehlert, from 16th, Scott Fisk from 17th and future National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame driver Kris Patterson. In heat race action, Kohn took heat one and Wing heat two on the big ½ mile track.

UMP modifieds were also in action, Ada Michigan driver Mark Anderson took the lead on the opening lap and went on to the win in the 20 lap mod feature. Anderson in victory lane said, “ this makes up for two weeks ago when we dropped out while leading. I want to thank Accurate Engines and all they do, and my crew for making the right changes on the car”. Opening night winner Todd Feutz was second, Johnny Deyoung, Steve Shellenberger, and Travis Stemler rounded out the top five. A scary moment was seen during the 14th lap, as Deyong and Tim Stemler were battling for third, when they touched sending Stemler off the back stretch. The car was not damaged and he was able to continue. Once again under green flag racing, Anderson was able to pull away to take the win. Justin Fleming, Brian Speelman, Brian Roark, Pat Ehlert and Stemler finished sixth thru ten. Heat race winners were Anderson and Tim Stemler. All the mod action was on the ½ mile.

The hobby stocks were racing for one of the biggest pay days in the state this year, a cool $500. 00 awaited the winner. Gladwin Michigan's David Mielke took the lead at the drop of the green flag over the 20 car field on the 3/8 mile track. Action was hot and heavy thru out the field, as the race was on for the share of the winner's purse. The red flag waved on lap 21 as Gary Buskirk took a hard roll over in turn one. Gary was ok, but the car was done for the night. During lap nine, Clarksville's Aaron Wolf took the lead and held off a great five car pack.
