Todd Cowan Race Report

On Saturday June 27th Todd Cowan and the #16 Action Mold and Machining UMP modified returned to the Thunderbird Raceway in Muskegon Mi. Near perfect track conditions as well as comfortable weather welcomed Todd back to the track. In heat race action Todd started 5th but by the half way point of the race Todd had motored his way to 2nd which would be where he would finish. Feature race action found Todd starting towards the back of the pack with a 10th place starting position which was determined by random draw in the 16 car field. Early feature action had Todd moving up through the pack, however with only two laps to go in the feature the #16 car suffered engine problems which relegated Todd to a 9th place finish.

The engine problem that the #16 Action Mold and Machining car suffered will sideline the Greg McClure owned car for a number of weeks. The team has vendor and part issues, and the #16 team wants to work through them to be able to finish the year strong. With that being said; Cowan Motorsports was happy to announce that Todd will be in competition at the Thunderbird Raceway this Saturday July 4th in the #34 Atomic Chassis “house car” of Walt Wisniewski. “This is a great opportunity for me to keep racing even though the car I usually drive will be out for a few weeks” Said Todd. “At this point the ride in the 34 car is for one week but you can bet I intend to make the most of this chance that Walt has given me. I hope to make the best of this ride for the Atomic team; I can’t thank Walt and Jon enough”. Racing action starts at 7pm at Thunderbird Raceway on Saturday July 4th.
