Jeep Van Wormer Jumps Back on Summer Nationals Trail; Busy Week Ahead!
(PINCONNING, MICHIGAN) Jeep Van Wormer and his Iron Motorsports team jumped back on the grueling UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour last weekend, as they competed in a trio of series events in the states of Kentucky and Illinois. Jeep took a provisional to gain access into the $10,000 to win show at the Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky on Friday, June 26. However, after starting twentieth on the grid, the Pinconning, Michigan native thrilled the fans in attendance by passing eleven cars en route to a ninth place performance.
On Saturday, the action quickly turned north to the Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois for another $10,000 to win race. Jeep laid down the quickest lap during qualifying, finished third in his heat race, and wound up eighteenth in the final rundown of the 40-lap A-Main. In the weekend finale on Sunday at the Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, Illinois, Jeep also finished in the eighteenth position of the $6,000 to win feature after running third in heat race action.
