Johnny VanDoorn Wins "Jeremiah Weed/Great Lakes Helicopter 125" at Dixie Motor Speedway

Johnny VanDoorn has definitely had his ups and downs this season. Combine mechanical failures, being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and a battle with mono, saying Vandoorn has had a rough season would be an understatement.

VanDoorn last week was excited just to be battling for a win at Anderson; a race that saw bad luck hit again. VanDoorn cut down a tire with 20 laps that took him out of contention. Who would ever have thought that this would be a victory of sorts for the two time CRA champion.

Tonight VanDoorn made his way to Dixie Motor Speedway with his always upbeat attitude and a will to knock the bad luck bug off his back. VanDoorn finally saw his luck change at the the "Jeremiah Weed/Great Lakes Helicopter 125". Driving the Port City Racing House Car VanDoorn was at the top of his game.

It took Vandoorn just 23 laps to make his way to the front after qualifying fourth. Vandoorn only relinquished the lead for a brief time to Tim Felver with 37 laps to go but quickly charged to the front again with 31 laps to go.

By the end of the event VanDoorn had stretched his lead to 10 car lenghts over Felver and third place finisher Mike Luberda.
