Mike Root wins Stan Perry Memorial at Angola Motor Speedway

Grand Rapids Mike Root took advantage of Harold Fairs bad luck and held off Owossos hard charging Tim Felver and Coopersvilles Johnny VanDoorn to win the Stan Perry Memorial 100 at Indiana's Angola Motor Speedway.

Milan's(MI) Harold Fair Jr look like he was going to dominate until a mechanical failure on lap 68 while leading placed him in the pits for the rest of the night. Root took advantage and led the rest of the way.

VanDoorn had another roller coaster evening. After a poor qualifying lap VanDoorn raced his way to a win in the last chance race to earn a spot in main event. VanDoorn put on a show in the Port City House Car working his way from the back of the pack to 12th by lap 25, 5th by lap 77 and finished a strong third while running out of laps.
