Jeep Van Wormer Eyes Doubleheader Weekend at Attica and Winston!
(PINCONNING, MICHIGAN) The Iron Motorsports team trekked to the Buckeye State of Ohio over the April 15-16 weekend for what was supposed to be a doubleheader weekend. On Friday night, the Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio was the track of choice for the #55 team. Jeep Van Wormer started sixth in his heat race, but quickly disposed of the competition en route to an impressive prelim triumph. The Pinconning, Michigan native later rolled off from the outside of the fourth row in the $1,000 to win main event, but was involved in an early race incident. Unfortunately, Jeep was unable to continue and retired in the eighteenth position.
Next up was scheduled to be a trip to the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on Saturday evening. Mother Nature put a halt to those plans; however, as the $2,000 to win American Late Model Series (ALMS) showdown was rained-out. Full results from Attica's program on Friday can be located online at www.atticaracewaypark.com.
Jeep and his #55 team will head back to the Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio tomorrow night, April 22, as the American Late Model Series (ALMS) rolls into town to sanction a $2,000 to win program. On Saturday evening, April 23, Jeep will travel back north to the Winston Speedway in Rothbury, Michigan for the annual running of the 'Player Hater 50.' This year's version of the unsanctioned race will pay $2,500 to the winner.
