Iron Motorsports Readies for Spring 50 this Saturday at Florence Speedway!
(PINCONNING, MICHIGAN) After blitzing Western Australia to the tune of two victories and a runner-up finish over the winter, Jeep Van Wormer will kick-off his 2011 campaign on American soil this Saturday night, March 19 in the Commonwealth of Kentucky! The 35th Annual 'Spring 50' will be held on Saturday at the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. The unsanctioned, one-day program generally draws a stout field of competitors, all of whom will be gunning for the $5,000 top prize.
Jeep captured an impressive victory in the 2009 version of the 'Spring 50' at the 1/2-mile, Cincinnati-area speedplant and will be looking for his second title this weekend. The Pinconning, Michigan native ran second in his heat race last year prior to crossing underneath the checkers fifth in the 50-lapper behind only winner Don O'Neal, Greg Johnson, Dan Schlieper, and Rod Conley.
