Jeep Van Wormer Heads to Winston Speedway Tomorrow Night on Heels of World 100

(PINCONNING, MICHIGAN) The Iron Motorsports team made their yearly trek to the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio for the 40th edition of the 'World 100' on September 10-11. A stout 134 car field converged on the "Big E" over the weekend and each driver had their sights set on the $43,000 winner's check. Jeep Van Wormer kicked-off his weekend by posting the twentieth fastest lap during the two-round qualifying session on Friday night.

After a brief rain delay on Saturday evening, Jeep grabbed the third and final transfer spot through his stacked heat race. The Pinconning, Michigan native later rolled off from the outside of the seventh row in the 100-lapper. Jeep put on a show for the huge crowd in the opening laps of the 'World 100,' as he advanced his #55 Rocket entry up to the seventh position. Unfortunately, his motor started running hot as the race wore on and he was forced to pull pitside and retire in the twenty-first spot. Complete results from the 'World 100' weekend can be located online at www.eldoraspeedway.com.

In other news out of Eldora, Jeep and twenty other drivers got their head shaved over the weekend as part of the "Brave the Shave" campaign. A Head 4 A Cure and the "Brave the Shave" campaign was launched back in June during the 'Dream 100' and over $40,000 was raised for three worthy cancer charities: Children's Cancer Fund of America, Cancer Research Institute, and American Cancer Society. A huge thank you goes to each person that donated their hard earned money towards this cause. For more information about A Head 4 A Cure, please logon to www.ahead4acure.com.

Next up for the #55 team will be a trip to the Winston Speedway in Rothbury, Michigan on Friday night, September 17. A rain-postponed, $2,000 to win American Late Model Series (ALMS) feature event will headline the show tomorrow night at Winston. In addition, Jeep also plans to compete in the $1,000 to win regularly scheduled event. Additional information on the big night of racing at Winston can be found online at www.winstonspeedway.net.
