Crystal Motor Speedway Opens April 17th

With an opening night of April 17th, the racing season at Crystal Motor Speedway is less than three weeks away and things are heating up at the track as final preparations are made. The 2009 season was a great one with high car and fan counts all year long and track promoter, Ron Flinn looks to make 2010 an even better year. Many new cement pads are being poured in the pits and the final track prep continues as the ground thaws. Track officials were highly encouraged after the annual drivers meeting in early March saw well over 22 new, never before registered drivers.

Improvements are in progress all around the track but the most
noticeable is the new "Crystal Motor Speedway Media Tower" as it nears completion. The new building literally "towers" over the grandstands with four floors from top to bottom. CMS scorers will be perched high above the racing surface to afford them the best possible view while the third floor serves as a VIP booth. The second floor will house the Races On The Web Media Center from which racing events will be streamed live over the Internet.

A 'Test and Tune' weekend is scheduled for April 10th and 11th. Further information as well as the 2010 schedule can be found on the track website at www.crystalmotorspeedway.com or by calling the office at 989.235.5200.
