(PINCONNING, MICHIGAN) Jeep Van Wormer and his #55 Iron Motorsports team invaded the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana on Saturday night, March 21 for another exciting round of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series competition. The annual running of the 'Indiana Icebreaker' was held at the 1/4-mile, semi-banked venue and a $10,000 top prize was up for grabs in the one-day show. Jeep ran strong in heat race action, as he advanced from his fifth starting spot to grab the second transfer position behind winner Scott Bloomquist.
The Pinconning, Michigan driver later rolled off from the outside of the fifth row for the 50-lap 'Indiana Icebreaker.' In front of a standing room only crowd, Jeep raced two and three wide around the black ice at Brownstown, getting as high as the eighth spot before settling for a twelfth place effort. Following the weekend, Jeep is currently eleventh in the latest version of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings and is leading the Rookie of the Year battle.
