Racing for a Cure This Saturday March 28th

Falbe Racing has teamed up with The Wilfong Family (Todd-Arena Racing President, Kim and Noah) and Tim Phillips (Points Leader #34) in the Arena Racing Series to raise money in the fight against ALS also known as Lou Gerhig’s disease. This disease has touched The Wilfong lives deeply since they found out that a close friend of their family (Mellisa Page) was diagnosed with the disease a little over a year ago. Since I have learned about this disease and how it has changed the life of the Page family, I have decided to do what I can to find a cure for this disease.
Below you will find some facts about ALS.
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)(Also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease)

Definition - A disease of the motor neurons, muscle-controlling nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that control voluntary muscle movement.

Cause - generally unknown, although genetic factors are thought to play a role; about 10 percent of cases are clearly genetic, with a family history

Onset -usually adulthoodSymptoms - generalized weakness and muscle wasting with cramps and muscle twitches common

Progression - ALS first affects legs, arms and/or throat and mouth muscles but ultimately affects all voluntary muscles, resulting in paralysis. Usually progresses rapidly with 3- to 5-year average survival.

Inheritance - primarily sporadic, but can be autosomal dominant and, in very rare cases, autosomal recessive

Our goal is to raise $1,500.00 throught the sale of our season ending championship race. Randy Whitten Race Report from Brownstown

Randy Whitten's #1 Modified 2009

Muskegon Modified driver Randy Whitten graciously agreed to provide race reports from Brownstown Speedway this weekend. Randy along with Mark Anderson, Jeep VanWormer and Rusty Seaver mad the trek for The 10nth annual "Icebreaker" event at Brownstown.

Randy's night was unfortunately limited to a heat race. During his run from his seventh place starting position Randy was able to only move up one position under track conditions that were

wet and slippery. Unfortunately late in the event Randy's oil pressure dropped and he decided it was not in his best interest to run in one of the "B" main events.

It was also reported that Mark Andersons bid to make the "A" main was from a qualifying spot in the "B" was taken in the last 100 feet when he was nipped at the checkered flag.

Jeep VanWormer and Rusty Seaver both made the "A" main and finished a respectable unofficial 12th and 21st place in the Late Model division. Earl Pearson Jr was the winner of the $10,000 grand prize "Icebreaker 100".

March 28th is the final race of their season. The winner of the Platinum Cup Series will be awarded a $10,000 prize.

"Ice Breaker" at Brownstown Speedway

I will have reports from local drivers at Brownstown Speedway in Indiana this coming weekend. This annual event has become the opening night for many West Michigan Dirt Late Model and Modified drivers.
